Well, here it is winter 2010 and it has been a cold one so far. I think we will all be glad when spring gets here and we can start gardening again.

The market vendors have been meeting and discussing what each of them will be growing for the market this year. It is always exciting to browse the seed catalogs and see what new offerings there are but it is a challenge to only add a few new varieties since garden space, money and the energy that is needed to grow everything is limited. Plus, it is difficult to decide what will taste good and/or grow here in central Tennessee. Undecided

All of the vendors would like to hear from you and any suggestions you may have on what you would like to see offered at the market this season. So, please take the Poll on this page and if you can, send us an email if you have more specific suggestions.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing all of our friends and customers from 2009 and meeting new ones! Laughing

Well, here it is the end of the season for the Farmers Market. We had a good year and some improvements were made. The vendor's displays are getting better and the selection of fruit and vegetables has increased. It is a slow process but the market is growing and getting better.

This winter the vendors will review how things went for each of them. Comments and suggestions from customers will be discussed to see what can be improved for summer 2010. Wow! Just saying 2010 sounds strange doesn't it? Anyway, all of us were sure glad to see so many of our regular customers return but it is exciting to see new people visit the market also. As more customers visit the market, it will convince more farmers that they should be involved in the Dickson Farmers Market too. And more farmers selling means bigger selections of produce to choose from which means more customers. Lets keep the cycle going as it benefits everyone.

If you visited the farmers market this summer and you have a comment you wish you would have told someone, well you still can. Just use the "Contact Us" form on this page to leave your comments and/or suggestions. All comments will be reviewed at the vendor meetings.

We thank everyone who visited the market this summer and hope to see you next year. Please tell a friend, neighbor, co-worker, anyone you know to stop by the Dickson County Farmers Market next season.

Thank You All  for your support.

First of all, we want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been stopping by the Dickson Farmers Market. The 2009 season has already been a big success. More vendors bringing more produce. More varieties of produce means bigger selections. Bigger selections brings more customers. More customers bring more vendors. Everybody wins!

The tomatoes and sweet corn are rolling in by the crate and pick-up truck load. The sweet corn and some field corn provides a great selection for everyone. Only problem is, it is so good the vendors are selling out early! People are buying dozens and dozens of ears of corn along with pounds of tomatoes. Somebody must be having a good time this summer!

We are seeing a nice variety of sweet and hot peppers along with beans and okra. Even the farm fresh eggs and jams and jellies are selling good. And why not? Who doesn't like a little homemade jam or jelly on their toast with their farm fresh breakfast eggs? Hmmmm... sounds good doesn't it?

Well, you be sure to stop by the Dickson Farmers Market on the scheduled market days of Tuesday, Fridays and Saturdays. You can always stop by on the non-scheduled days to see if anyone is selling. A few vendors have so much great produce that they even sell on off days. If you are in town, stop by and see who is there.

Again, a big THANK YOU to everyone for making this market a success so early in the season. Lets watch as it grows and becomes a Dickson landmark.
